So have I been following Darius Williams on Facebook for awhile. He does cooking demonstrations and has an awesome cookbook, Stories from my Grandmother’s Kitchen. A few months ago he launched his own restaurant, Greens & Gravy in Atlanta. Right then I knew I had to go there and try his food.
Just so happen my cousin also is a huge fan, so I booked us reservations for her birthday. FYI, you hace to make reservations on opentable to dibe there.
The restaurant is located in a very nice historic neighborhood. When we walked in, we was created by a very nice hostess. To my surprise, the restaurant was a little small with no more than 10 tables, which was fine with me.
As we sat down and looked at the menu, which is filled with classic soul food cuisine with a twist, my eye went directly to the lemon pepper honey fried chicken!! #yessss
That entrée consists of 4 juicy pieces of fried chicken, two fixins, and a biscuit. So ordered mac and cheese and collard greens. And did I mentioned the skillet butter pecan cornbread!! Oh and he has kool aid on the menu!! Yes kool aid!!
With the 4 of us, we literally ordered everything on the menu! We had 3 tables filled with food!
I definitely give Greens & Gravy 20 stars out of 10.
The restaurant is very welcoming, intimate, and refreshing. You must give them a try when you in Atlanta!
EAT. PLAY. RELAX.
